Pada awalnya, IP address tersebut hanya bisa ditentukan oleh pengguna secara manual, atau dikenal dengan static IP.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dengan kata lain, jika Anda mempunyai lima perangkat komputer di dalam satu jaringan, Anda harus mengatur dan menulis sendiri IP address beserta beberapa konfigurasi lain untuk kelima komputer tersebut.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dan kalau suatu saat Anda menambah perangkat baru ke jaringan, Anda kemudian harus melakukan proses konfigurasi yang sama secara berulang-ulang. Belum lagi, jika IP address yang dituliskan salah, maka perangkat Anda tidak akan bisa terkoneksi dengan <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">network<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bagi Anda yang mengelola jaringan skala besar, proses konfigurasi static IP tadi akan banyak menyita waktu Anda bukan?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Itulah mengapa Anda membutuhkan DHCP (<em>Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol<\/em>)\u2014yaitu sebuah protokol yang secara otomatis menyediakan dan menentukan IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, DNS address, beserta konfigurasi lainnya untuk jaringan Anda.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DHCP ini banyak digunakan pada jaringan berbasis <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">TCP\/IP<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. DHCPOffer<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DHCP server memberitahukan DHCP client bahwa server tersedia, kemudian menawarkan informasi konfigurasi meliputi IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, DNS IP address, lease time, dan DHCP server IP address.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3_DHCPRequest\"><\/span><b>3. DHCPRequest<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DHCP client meminta data konfigurasi jaringan kepada DHCP server. Dan jika ada banyak DHCPOffer yang diterima, DHCP client hanya akan memilih DHCPOffer pertama.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4_DHCPAck\"><\/span><b>4. DHCPAck<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DHCP server mengirimkan DHCPAck untuk menyetujui DHCPRequest yang diterima dari DHCP client.
